The Society for Good

Coffee and wine are the same story told twice.

Both start in the ground. Both carry the fingerprint of a place, a season, a person who made ten thousand small decisions you'll never know about but will absolutely taste. Both go through fire and time and transformation so fundamental it feels less like production and more like something that was always going to happen.

Fermentation doesn't care if it's a cherry on a raised bed in Ethiopia or a grape in a concrete tank in the Rhône. It just does its work. Slow, stubborn, alive. What comes out the other side connects people to a place they've never been. That's the part that gets us every time.

We built the Bean & Bottle Society because these two things belong in the same room. Come sit in it with us.

Indulge Yourself

The Society For Joy

You deserve nice things.

A wine somebody made with actual intention. A coffee that tastes like the farmer cared, because they did. Both at your door every month, both chosen because they stopped us cold.

That's the Society. Built for people who think Tuesday is a perfectly good reason to open something special.

Be Rad

People x Process

At Torque our passion is people. We fervently believe that committed, dedicated and passionate people are what makes coffee and wine so aboundingly rad. Both our coffee and wine programs are focused on the alchemy that great wine or coffee people produce when they take a place (terroir) and apply their personal process to it. The results are nothing short of magical. So great people, in a place, taking plants, applying their process creates an experience. That's what the Bean & Bottle Society is. The alchemical experience of people, place, plants and process. Lean-in.

The Deets

How It Works

Every month we create a thoughtful, inclusive theme that provides clarity and constraints for our team to intentionally curate two highly unique wines that either complement, contrast or compare well together. And that theme encompasses the coffee selection so that all three come together as a unified theme.

The Society:

  • 2 different curated wines
  • 1 curated coffee
  • 10% off all wines in shop
  • Custom 'zine packed with fun info
  • First dibs on Meet the Maker events

Ask The Right Questions

How are the wines curated?

The Torque Society curates a unique and exclusive pair of wines each month. One featured focus wine from our producer partner and then one wine that complements, contrasts, compares or just plain feels good with it!

Do I get To Pick?

No. The Society is a highly curated membership for those elevated souls who love adventure and fun. The wines and the coffee will be absolutely amazing.

Tell me about the wine producers

Small California (& Mexico) producers doing great things. Highlighting biodynamic and natural wines with an emphasis on sustainable agricultural practices and small batch harvesting. The retail selection should be a mix of exceptional classics, table wines, interesting varieties, exciting, & approachable wines at mid-range price points. Special focus on women wine producers.

Which Coffees?

Each month Nanelle selects her current favorite coffee from our rotating selection and prepares it specially for Society members. Each coffee is in our award winning 12oz retail bags.

Are the Wines Available outside of the Society?

No. The wines we select for Society members we do not sell by the bottle or by the glass. These are exclusive Society members only selections. We do choose the wines from our featured producer for that month. So other wines from the same producer will be available by the bottle and sometimes by the glass.
